Situated on Westgate Road with easy access from the city centre, the £6 million hub was completed in 2012 by Centre West and the charity Groundwork (South Tyneside and Newcastle).
It’s a flagship building for the West End, with tenants ranging from training and recruitment companies to web designers and an Indian fashion house. With 95% of its business units now occupied, The Beacon has already proved to be a first-class base for local businesses.
But that’s not all. The 400-capacity Skylight Suite provides a superb conference and events venue, with organisations like the NHS and engineering giant Siemens among its regular users.
With natural light and stunning panoramic views from its balconies, the Skylight Suite is also a popular choice as a venue for weddings, wedding receptions and family parties.
The eco-friendly building also offers a stylish bistro, a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and a hair and beauty salon, both of which can be hired for training purposes.
The Beacon, which benefited from a £2.42M investment from the European Regional Development Fund, was opened in April 2012 by the Duke of Kent.
